EL ROÍ IN EVERYDAY CHAOS
A blog from the overflow, not the pressure
I launched a collection this week — but girl, it didn’t come from a marketing calendar.
It came from real life. From deep walks and loud prayers. From window units and apricots.
From the swirl and the stretch and the stillness.
From chaos and chili and a God who SEES.
This is the El Roí Mini Collection.
And it’s more than merch.
It’s a whisper I heard in my own whirlwind:
“I see you, babe.”
(And yes, beautiful — He sees you too.)
🌍 LIFE LATELY: A WEEK OF CHAOS & CHILI
Our oldest daughter and her crew are living it UP in Europe right now — Paris, Rome, Italy — and we’ve been soaking in every dreamy photo and story they send. Meanwhile, back at the ranch (literally), our central air decided to pull a disappearing act just as July tried to roast us. 😅 Praise God for window units and a surprise cooldown!
Somehow in the middle of it all, I’ve been walking almost 6 miles a day — which is either evidence of spiritual revival or a sign that I’m working something out in my soul. Probably both.
And while I walk? I listen.
This week I stumbled on a podcast from Bianca Juárez Olthoff and whewwww QUEEN. She went IN on the holy mandate to rest — how we often confuse movement with purpose, and how sometimes the most spiritual thing we can do is stop. Just… stop.
Let Him speak. Let Him see.
Link’s at the bottom — you need this.
🥫 APRICOTS + ANOINTING
In true “She Laughs” fashion, I also canned up a giant batch of chili, picked buckets of apricots from a generous neighbor, and may or may not be staring at the jam pot as I type this.
You want to talk about overflow? It’s not always sermons and worship playlists. Sometimes it’s homemade meals from the fridge scraps. Or jam from someone’s extra tree. It’s fruitfulness in real life. It’s making do, making beauty, and making space for the Spirit to breathe in ordinary moments.
👁️ EL ROÍ: THE GOD WHO SEES
This week, God’s been gently bringing me back to the story of Hagar in Genesis 16 — the first woman in the Bible to give God a name.
She called Him El Roí — the God who sees.
She didn’t find Him in the palace. She found Him in the wilderness.
Broken. Alone. Pregnant. Running.
And God didn’t just see her pain — He gave her purpose.
He gave her a promise.
Girl, if that ain’t a word.
The El Roí Mini Collection was born from that truth — and it’s now live on the shop.
6 designs. 1 truth:
He sees. You’re not forgotten. You’re not missed. You’re not invisible.
💌 NEW: MINI DEVO DROP
I also wrote a mini devotional to go with the drop. You can download it for free — a 1-page print-and-pray reminder that in the chaos, the quiet, and even the cracked-up AC, our God is still El Roí. Available for free with the purchase of any EL ROI.™ or SEEN.™ tee.
💬 Final thoughts, sis:
Life doesn’t always feel sacred. But that doesn’t mean it’s not.
Sometimes your holiest days are the ones that smell like garlic, apricot jam, and sweat from a prayer walk.
And sometimes your reminder of His faithfulness comes wrapped in cotton —
or scribbled on a napkin.
Or whispered in the voice of a King who sees all and loves deeper.
He sees.
That’s the blog.
That’s the drop.
That’s the truth.
